Senior Scientist

Dentsply Sirona is seeking a Senior Scientist to develop practical processes for new resins and photopolymers, drive discovery forward, and assist in developing departmental strategic plans and policies. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in life science or related field with at least 5 years of relative working experience, or a PhD in polymer chemistry or materials science with background in polymer synthesis. The role requires strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to build and foster internal partnerships, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Requirements

• Developing practical procedures in separation/purification of organic compounds
• Elucidating/analyzing molecular structures of new compounds/resins/polymers
• Evaluating physical and mechanical properties of formulated compositions
• Maintaining laboratory equipment such as NMR, FITR, HPLC/GPC and Photo DSC and Photo Rheology
• Project management responsibilities including development from ideation to technology transfer
• Surveillance of projects assigned to other to assure program progress
• Supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees
• Conducting mechanical/physical property testing of dental materials and possibly biocompatibility testing
• Providing verbal and written reports of activities to senior chemist/scientist
• Conducting literature/web-based searches with guidance of supervisor
• Training other R&D associates and associates from external departments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, Power, Point, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
