The Investigator role sits within the Complaints, Investigation and Prosecution Unit (CIPU), investigating complaints against private security operators under the Private Security Personnel and Private Investigators Act 2010. This is an operational role involving fieldwork, domestic travel, and some after-hours and weekend work.
Requirements
- Investigation experience - proven ability to manage investigations through to enforcement, including acting as Officer in Charge.
- Court and hearing confidence - experience preparing and presenting evidence in criminal court and tribunal or hearing settings.
- Effective communication - strong evidential interviewing skills, clear reporting, and the ability to build productive relationships.
- Regulatory understanding - sound knowledge of regulatory theory and risk-based regulatory practice.
- Operational capability - experience conducting field enquiries, managing conflict, and working effectively outside the office.
- Delivery focus - ability to prioritise workloads and progress investigations to timely and appropriate outcomes.
