Senior Engineer I, Observability

We are looking for a Senior Engineer I to join our Observability team at DigitalOcean. The ideal candidate will have experience running and using distributed databases, writing software in Golang, and working with DevOps tooling. The role involves integrating and operating open source distributed data systems, implementing features to improve service operability, and guiding other engineers on how to utilize our systems.

Requirements

• Experience running and using distributed databases such as Opensearch, VictoriaMetrics, Clickhouse
• Experience with Kubernetes not just as an end user, but also an operator
• Experience writing software in Golang
• Experience with DevOps tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, and Github Actions
• Ability to work well as part of a geographically distributed team
• Participation in a 24/7 on call rotation
• Strong communication and customer service skills
