Reporting to the Production Supervisor-Metal, the Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up quality conforming parts based on drawings and blueprints, and operating the numerical controlled (CNC) press brake machine while maintaining established procedures and specifications.
Requirements
- Prepare and operate machines to perform tasks such as cutting, bending and programming using all features of the press brake
- Understand specifications of the task at hand, determines which brake dies are used based on the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Adjusts machine settings in order to adhere to established product specifications and monitors work to ensure machine is functioning properly
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Perform process and maintains tight tolerances and quality requirements
- Responsible for set-up maintenance and operation of equipment in the press brake
- Responsible for inspecting the quality of raw materials before fabrication use
- Communicate proactively to Production Supervisor-Metal any issues related to material quality, machine issues or any items negatively impacting product output
- Performs routine and minor maintenance activities as needed
