Job Description
The Staff Accountant supports the Parish Accounting Services department by providing accounting and bookkeeping services to assigned parishes, missions, and parish schools within the Diocese of Charlotte.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in accounting or bookkeeping; experience supporting a parish, school, or nonprofit organization preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Excellent computer proficiency with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with ParishSOFT accounting software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Ability to manage multiple parish accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective communication and customer service skills when working with parish staff and leadership.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in financial matters.
