- Ability to read complex scientific papers and understand them to turn them into engaging copy
- Ability to produce breaking news stories with speed and accuracy
- Strong news and journalism ethics judgment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical matters and conditions
- Ability to write strong first drafts that are informative, intelligible, engaging and accurate
- Ability to monitor analytics and adjust strategy to optimize KPIs
- Ability to write moving real-life features
- Capability to write and edit in a pressurized environment
