Financial Data Analyst Contractor

DNAnexus is seeking a Financial Data Analyst to serve as the subject matter expert on internal data structures, designing the semantic layer for financial analytics. The role requires executing complex SQL queries on large datasets to support Finance and Accounting with budgeting, margin analysis, and cloud-cost optimization.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience working in analytics in finance, product, operations, or related areas.
• Intermediate SQL proficiency, with ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and performing data manipulation for large datasets.
• Expert user of Tableau, Superset, or other BI tools for creating dynamic dashboards and data visualizations that translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Redshift or any other SQL-based database.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Clear and direct communication skills for complex, technical topics.
• A strong ability in presenting complex financial data clearly to diverse audiences, including leadership and both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in data and business logic to deliver structured insights and reliable reporting.
• A 'can-do' attitude with a willingness to tackle tasks hands-on.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
