The CNC Machinist sets up and operates computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines to perform machining operations including milling, lathes, large horizontal and vertical lathes. The hours for this role is 2:00 pm to 12:30 am.
Requirements
- Actively promote and participate in advancing the safety culture of the facility.
- Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
- Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
- Interpret work instructions.
- Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed.
- Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum and bronze
- Read, understand, edit and/or write programs.
- Understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.
- Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.
- Adhere to all Waukesha Bearings policies and procedures.
- Seek out and participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities.
- Set up all necessary measuring equipment and routinely check the calibration of the equipment while measuring.
