Assistant General Counsel

DTCC is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join their General Counsel's Office. The ideal candidate will have 8-15 years of post-qualification experience and be qualified to practice law in the UK. The role involves advising on complex legal and regulatory matters, supporting business leaders, and identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risks.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer authorized to practice in the UK (e.g. solicitor or barrister with current practicing certificate for England and Wales)
• 8 to 15 years post-qualification experience (PQE) or equivalent
• Experience advising clients in the financial services industry, ideally with experience working in a UK office of a North American financial institution
• Familiarity with regulations governing trade execution, matching, and settlement in the UK and Europe
• Excellent judgment, strong drafting and substantive lawyering skills across the board
• Proven ability to engage effectively with EU and UK regulators (ESMA, FCA)
• Analytical and curious approach; desire to solve problems inside and outside of the legal area using the skills and experience of a lawyer to facilitate
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with lawyers and legal professionals at all levels, and to distill concepts into a format appropriate for non-lawyers
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment, effectively manages multiple priorities under tight timelines and adapts to evolving legal and business challenges
