SENIOR PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE (SCHOOL HEALTH, 12-MONTH) - MULTIPLE

Join Durham County Government as a Senior Public Health Nurse in the School Health Program. Provide direct care, assess, plan, and evaluate nursing interventions for students with chronic health conditions.

Requirements

• Provides direct care and facilitates the practice components of case management;
• Provides instruction to students, school staff, and families regarding health issues and skilled procedures;
• Independently evaluates students presenting with health problems or concerns, arranges for the appropriate management of, care coordination and referral for students with health problems;
• Develops individual care plans for students with chronic or life-threatening medical conditions; instructs and monitors for safe medication administration;
• Practices in school settings and strategically collaborates with school district staff to increase the district’s capacity to address student health;
• May be required to provide nursing services and health support in Public Health Medical Division clinics, programs, and community response programs;
