Principal HVAC Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal HVAC Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CAD, experience with 3D modeling, and a deep understanding of federal, state, and local codes and standards.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen
• Highly skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) with demonstrated experience with computer aided drafting applications
• 3D modeling experience required (S3D preferred)
• Ability to develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, key quantities tracking reports, project scope of services, scope of facilities etc.
• Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to specialized (nuclear or other areas) engineering design
• A combination of education and fifteen (15) years of experience (associate degree preferred) in drafting related to Engineering and Construction (nuclear preferred)
• Development of HVAC load calculations
• Development of HVAC air flow diagrams and instrument diagrams
• Development of HVAC system sequence of operation narratives
• Sizing and specification of air handling units and other equipment
• HVAC main duct and distribution duct sizing and routing
• Development of black utility (chiller, boiler, custom Air Handling Unit (AHU), air compressor and cooling tower) specifications based upon sizing data provided by Process
• Development of HVAC specifications
