
Job description
The Material Planner position plans and maintains the material requirements for certain Defense and Space Systems product lines. The role ensures adherence to production schedule and proper inventory levels. The position is responsible for close coordination with Engineering to maintain an accurate Bill of Material.
The Material Planner will act as a focal point and monitor assigned areas to ensure material delivery dates meet production needs. They will identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages. The role involves analyzing data and collaborating with internal customers to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment levels.
The successful candidate will have strong computer skills and familiarity with basic MRP system functions. They will have excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal. The role requires a self-starter with high energy, able to work independently and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic and changing work environment.
