Material Planner/Coordinator

Role Overview

A Material Planner is responsible for ensuring that the necessary materials and components are available for production and maintenance activities while minimizing inventory costs. This role involves coordinating the procurement, delivery, and inventory management of materials, working closely with suppliers, production teams, and other departments to maintain an optimal flow of resources.

What You Will Do

Work with suppliers, production teams, and other departments to ensure material availability, manage inventory levels, and balance material supply and demand. Order and release materials from assigned suppliers, communicate with stakeholders to develop solutions to material supply issues, and meet with vendors to discuss issues and ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

• BS or BA degree from an accredited university (or experience in lieu of degree)
• 3 to 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Collaboration skills and ability to work with others
• Experience doing production planning in an ERP system
• Knowledge of plant operations and production scheduling
• MS Office skills inclusive of Outlook, Word, and Excel
