East Harlem Scholars Academies are community-based Pre-K to 12 public charter schools operated by East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP). EHTP began in 1958 as a children's reading group and has since grown into a multi-site after-school program for traditional public school students and a network of public charter schools focused on significantly increasing the college graduation rate in East Harlem.
Job Description
As a Middle School Inclusive Learning Teacher with East Harlem Scholars Academies, you will work alongside a co-teacher to deliver content and instruction to students, collaborate with the instructional leadership team, and create a positive classroom culture. You will also be responsible for tracking student progress, managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and engaging in reflection and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant educational positions
- Bachelor's Degree or higher, with New York State teaching certification for teaching Students With Disabilities
- Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish fluently (preferred)
- Hold high professional and ethical standards
- Enjoy and/or have experience working with diverse populations of students and communities
