Job Description
Youth Educator position at PS 179 in the Bronx, NY, to design and lead diverse enrichment activities for students. Must have experience working with youth in areas such as civic engagement, music, visual arts, martial arts, media technology, dance, sports, and recreation. 20 hours per week, flexible schedule.
Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Some college preferred
- Minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience
- Experience working with elementary schools, preferably in a racially, ethically, and socio-emotionally diverse urban community
- Ability to communicate effectively with all participants while remaining professional at all times
- Ability to motivate students while setting an example in all areas, including responsibility, timeliness, organization, attendance, and professionalism
