Staff Software Engineer - Frontend Web Platform KICK

Kick is a global live-streaming platform looking for a Staff Software Engineer to own and evolve the frontend platform architecture. The role involves writing high-quality production code, delivering end-to-end platform improvements, and partnering with other teams on scaling and load balancing. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software engineering experience, strong proficiency in JavaScript, and experience with server-side rendering and modern frontend architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong frontend focus
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals, NextJS and TypeScript.
• Experience with server-side rendering (SSR), modern frontend architecture, and testing frameworks
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and guiding teams.
• Experience designing scalable systems, not just implementing features
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams and stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and deliver complex initiatives end-to-end.
