Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer works with suppliers to monitor the effectiveness of their Quality Management System and partners with key stakeholders to continuously improve supplier performance. This position requires special knowledge and skills that would enable the SQE to drive major Quality improvement projects across functions with minimum supervision.

Requirements

• Performs all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely manner to support the supplier quality/inspection system.
• Manages the compliance of supplier performance through the application of system, product, and process audits.
• Coordinates quality assurance program plans, monitors, and executes to audit schedules, evaluates acceptance test programs, and quality engineering requirements of Eaton suppliers.
• Drives the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process for assigned Suppliers.
• Leads quality focus meetings to address supplier performance and to communicate progress to senior leadership.
• Communicates highly complicated process or issues in a concise manner to be able to drive collaboration and corrective action.
• Promotes the use of continuous improvement techniques and Advanced Part Quality Planning (APQP) principles at Suppliers.
• Improves product quality by ensuring proper inspection and drawing requirements are communicated, understood and deliverable.
• Utilize supplier quality data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate as required in floor stand up meetings to gain first-hand knowledge of supplier issues and their impact on manufacturing.
• Provide timely investigations into supplier quality issues.
