Principal Engineer, AI/ML

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a Principal Engineer, AI/ML to lead strategic AI and Generative AI initiatives and partner with business SMEs to drive solution design and development in collaboration with peers and external vendors.

Requirements

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions at scale to address complex business problems in partnership with business SMEs, product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines for training, testing, and evaluating various Large Language Models (LLMs) and/or traditional machine learning models, and engineer solutions using appropriate AI/ML frameworks and libraries
• Stay current with the latest GenAI and traditional AI/ML research and industry trends, incorporating relevant advancements into product offerings
• Improve and optimize model performance, ensuring robustness, scalability, and efficiency
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and data scientists
• Ensure code and model development are well-documented and adhere to EW engineering practices
• Perform incidental general and administrative tasks as required
