Forensic Mechanical Engineer

EFI Global is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer, P.Eng. to conduct incident investigations, provide mechanical engineering consulting, and expert level engineering consulting services to clients in the insurance and legal sectors, government agencies, and private industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university and registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) within a province or territory in Canada
• Five (5)+ years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required including experience in failure analysis and forensic engineering
• Experience in HVAC systems, plumbing and piping, boilers and pressure vessels
• Experience with machinery and heavy equipment
• Experience conducting equipment damage assessments
• Experience working with insurance carriers, independent adjusters, law firms and business executives
• Expert witness testimony experience is a strong asset
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry codes and standards regarding mechanical systems and equipment
• Analytical and interpretive skills
• Understanding of root cause analysis and scientific methodology
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Good presentation skills
