Animal Care Technician Intern

Animal Care Technician Intern will provide animal care and upkeep animal areas in accordance with the company standard operating procedure, assist in all animal-related projects and procedures, and collaborate with the Farm Operations Team to ensure all farm activities are completed according to eGenesis standards and guidelines.

Requirements

• Feeding and cleaning of all animals and housing facilities
• Closely observe animals whenever working with them and report any unusual conditions immediately to Vet Staff/direct supervisor
• Assist in safe animal handling and movements
• Maintain high standard of animal care and welfare
• Consistently follow all preparation, stimulation, sanitation, and identification SOPs
• Maintenance of animal related equipment and facilities
• Responsible for maintaining all aspects relative to research animal care, health, and treatment
• Follow instructions and recommendations for animal treatments in accordance with on-site Vet Staff direction
• Support Vet Staff with the preparation of animals undergoing surgeries
• Responsible for maintaining and keeping health and herd management records
• Perform estrus synchronization, injection/administration of hormones, and heat checking/estrus detection
• Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace by following safe work practices and enforcing health and safety regulations
