Job Description
El Camino Health is seeking a Surgical Tech I to collaborate with clinical nurses in planning and providing direct nursing care for surgical patients. The successful candidate will work at the direction of a physician and surgeon to facilitate safe and effective invasive surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited course for surgical technologists or military equivalent
- Less than Two (2) years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital of similar size
- Must be able to foster and maintain working relationships with co-workers and physicians
- Must be able to communicate in English and to perform potentially complex reading, writing, spelling and mathematics
- Must be able to prioritize and organize independently and function well under stressful situations
- Must be able to demonstrate disinfection and sterilization techniques and maintain aseptic technique
- Must be able to understand and work within the legal limits of the position
