The Machine Set-Up Technician will set up and operate computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal workpieces. The technician will review program specifications, mount and install tools, and monitor machine operation.
Requirements
- Review program specifications or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines
- Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules
- Enter commands or load control media to retrieve programmed instructions
- Monitor machine operation and control panel displays
- Implement changes to machine programs and enter new specifications, using computers
- Keep machine clean and area free of debris and work hazards
- Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes
- Package and prepare panels for delivery to customers
