Job Description
As a Small Business Underwriter III at EMC, you will maintain and grow a profitable portfolio of new and renewal small business within assigned territory and underwriting authority, applying advanced underwriting judgment and expertise to effectively select, evaluate, and price individual risks. You will also build and sustain agency relationships, collaborate with sales and business partners, and advance underwriting proficiency by staying current on best practices and industry-specific training.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
- Three years of experience in commercial lines underwriting or related experience
- Insurance designations, such as CPCU or CIC preferred
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiating skills
- Ability to work effectively with others, as well as independently
- Ability to maintain high standards of professional competence
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media
