Open Rank Full-Time Faculty Position in Directing

Emerson College invites applications for a Full-time faculty position in Directing. The position involves teaching in the area of Directing at the undergraduate or graduate levels, mentoring student directors, and directing one to two productions during each Emerson Stage season. The appointment begins August 20, 2026.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of professional theatre directing experience.
• Knowledge of areas of theatre training offered in the Performing Arts Department at Emerson College.
• Experience teaching and mentoring students at the college-level or in a conservatory setting.
• Hold a terminal degree (MFA) or equivalent professional experience in the area of Directing.
• Active engagement in professional and artistic organizations, conferences, and networks related to performing and directing theater.
• Professional affiliation with The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), or others
