Python Software Engineer

Lantern is seeking an intermediate Software Development Engineer to join their healthcare technology team and help shape the future of their platform. The successful candidate will work primarily as a backend engineer, building and maintaining backend services and APIs, while remaining flexible to contribute to frontend features as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on, Production level experience in software development using Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask)
• Familiarity with C#/.NET, sufficient to understand, debug, and modify existing codebases.
• Experience building secure, scalable REST APIs and backend services.
• Solid understanding of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests using frameworks such as PyTest, xUnit, or Jest to ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0 authentication and authorization flows.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to modern design and development practices.
