As a Power Grid Modeling and Forecasting Advisor, you will report to Congestion Trading Director and will lead and develop long term grid scenarios for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) footprint and forecast nodal price curves using production cost modeling tools. The role involves leading long-term nodal price forecasting of ERCOT market, assessing operational and prospective assets for future risk, and proposing appropriate sites for new projects from the nodal studies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Engineering/Business/Finance or other relevant disciplines
• A minimum of ten years professional experience
• A minimum of seven years of grid planning or wholesale electricity market experience in ERCOT or relevant ISO
• Strong understanding of power grid optimization, powerflow shift factors, line-outage distribution factors and contingency analysis
• Strong analytical skills
• Proficient in coding such as Structured Query Language (SQL) and Python
• Knowledge of statistical techniques
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
• Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis
