CNC Machinist

Machinist II is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components used in hydro turbines and complete turbine assemblies.

Requirements

• Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding of geometric tolerancing
• Able to make all but the most complex component set ups on large VBM’s
• Able to edit programs for VBM’s
• Able to make all but the most complex components set ups on large HBM’s
• Able to edit programs for HBM’s
• Cleans up sweepings of machine tool operation scrap and collects in scrap/trash bins
• Able to set up feeds, speeds and judge cutter/insert condition to optimize machining operation for meeting surface finish and productivity
