The Ready Mix Technician is responsible for collecting, analyzing and reporting on various concrete and aggregate samples in both field and lab settings. The ideal candidate must perform their duties focusing on a high level of quality, attention to detail and ownership of work as well as being able to effectively communicate with other departments and plant/field personnel.
Requirements
- Collect concrete and aggregate samples from various production plants/job sites and deliver them to labs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI
- Record, analyze and maintain a database of test results and prepare summaries of findings
- Report collected data verbally and/or in writing to management and operations in a timely manner
- Perform routine testing of standard mixes and perform/test trial mixes for special placements or performance specifications
- Conduct routine sampling of stockpiles
- Evaluate new materials and admixtures
- Provide operational relief duties at various (plant / site) and assist manager with customer service
- Proactively suggest improvements to current processes
- Learn concrete batching, dispatching, and quality control software (specifically used to analyze mix designs)
- Perform Surface/Ground Water Sampling at OSCO’s plants within Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI
- Assist with special projects as required
- Additional duties as assigned
