Assembler Welder performs welding and assembly operations on drilling rigs following standard and quality assurance methods and within company safety guidelines. The role requires moderate physical demand and involves handling materials and tools while performing welding, assembly and related operations.
Requirements
- Weld components using blueprints
- Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, or other written specifications
- Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system elements
- Maintain the cleanliness of the assembly area
- Detect and report defective materials, faulty operation, and unusual conditions to immediate Supervisor
- Select materials and processes to be applied
- Set up and adjust equipment
- Weld, in vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead positions to make items of various sizes and shapes
- Brazes, flame-cuts, beads, heat treats, pressure, and tack welds
- Use hand and power tools of the welding trade
- Follow prescribed safety regulations / guidelines
- Maintain work related records and reports
- Perform other duties as required or directed
