ERG is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to independently develop mechanical designs for renovations and upgrades to existing buildings at a federal site. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting operations and maintenance of building mechanical equipment such as HVAC, pumps, compressors, and blowers.
Requirements
- Plan, implement, or monitor preventative maintenance programs (e.g., inspections, testing, and maintenance) that comply with federal and local requirements and industry codes, standards, and guidelines
- Provide engineering support toward documenting and/or troubleshooting operational issues with mechanical equipment
- Identify and work to proactively resolve any compliance issues
- Identify and document potential capital improvement projects necessary to improve operations by conducting site visits to document existing conditions, developing new requirements based on planned use, and creating preliminary scopes or budgetary cost estimates
- Perform mechanical design reviews for facility improvement projects provided by third-party or in-house design efforts
- Assess compliance of design packages with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), codes, and regulations as well as end-user requirements
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and external
- Serve as a project manager on some assigned projects
