Indigenous Engagment Consultant (Field Based)

ERM is hiring an Indigenous Engagement Consultant in British Columbia, Canada to deliver technical leadership for engagement and consultation programs related to regulatory processes, Indigenous Interests Assessments, and land use studies. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the BC environmental assessment processes and proven track record working with clients to inform engagement strategies and manage engagement tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Indigenous Studies, anthropology, archaeology, sociology, geography, environmental sciences, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience related to Indigenous interests, engagement, and traditional knowledge.
• Academic and/or work experience with Canada’s Indigenous groups, Indigenous Knowledge, and within the resource management, environmental, or sustainability sectors.
• Experience working with Indigenous peoples.
• Excellent writing, communication, organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with project management tools.
• Project management skills and experience are an asset.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capability to conduct research, analyze data, and present results clearly and concisely.
