Optical Payload Engineer

Fixed-term appointment as an Optical Payload Engineer in the Optics Section at ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands. Provide technical expertise for ESA projects, programmes, and studies, and contribute to the development of optical space payloads and instrumentation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in applied optics, optical engineering, or physics
• Experience with optical design, performance, and data analysis
• Knowledge of relevant technologies for optical payload design, manufacturing, and testing
• Hands-on experience in assembly, integration, and testing of optical instruments
• Ability to perform conceptual and detailed optical design and performance analysis
• Knowledge of test and verification methods for optical components and instrumentation
