Provides medical nutritional therapy and nutrition counseling for a variety of illnesses and/or conditions using the Nutrition Care Process as established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian with current certification as a Dietitian in the State of Washington
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in dietetics, foods and nutrition
- Knowledge of adult learning concepts with emphasis on weight loss education and support
- Teaching skills that are easily adapted to fit the needs of the patient(s)
- Ability to engage and motivate patients to adopt new self-management behaviors
- Assessment skills for developing a patient specific care plan
- Time management skills for conducting appointments, completing charting, and other projects
