Requirements
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Ontario Basic Hard Rock Miner Certificate (U/G Common Core)
- Ontario Supervisor Common Core Program
- 3 years of directly-related experience or several years of experience working and progressing through various levels of underground mining
- Solid background in production mining
- Strong understanding of various mining methods and procedures
- Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
- Strong time-management and prioritization capabilities
- Good written and verbal communication abilities
- Willing and able to participate in courses and developmental training programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
- Well-developed decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Sound organizational skills
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office programs and navigate and retrieve information from a database
- Ability to inspire, motivate and manage the performance of others
- Capable of visualizing what lies ahead
- Possesses a strong work ethic
