Founding High School MLL Specialist (2026-2027)

Excel Academy is a network of 5 schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island that prepares students in grades 5-12 to succeed in high school and college and engage productively in their communities. The founding High School MLL Specialist will be responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous college-preparatory instruction designed to foster the success of their students.

Requirements

• Collaborate with teachers to help students master content and language objectives
• Advise teachers on accommodating curriculum for MLL students
• Provide coaching to teachers around best practices for working with multilingual learners
• Work specifically with MLL students during assigned periods of the day
• Create a safe learning environment for all students by implementing Excel’s strategies and best practices with consistency
• Collaborate with department members on curriculum refinement and implementation
• Design and implement rigorous assessments that evaluate student mastery of academic standards
