Job Description
Excel Academy is seeking a Middle School MLL Specialist to collaborate with teachers, provide coaching, and support students in grades 5-12. The ideal candidate is passionate about education, committed to addressing racial and economic inequity, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
Requirements
- Collaborate with teachers to help students master content and language objectives
- Advise teachers on accommodating curriculum for MLL students
- Provide coaching to teachers around best practices for working with multilingual learners
- Provide inclusion support for classes containing MLL students
- Work specifically with MLL students during assigned periods of the day
- Create a safe learning environment for all students
- Collaborate with department members on curriculum refinement and implementation
- Design and implement rigorous assessments
- Serve as a productive member of the Excel Academy community
