Excel Academy Charter Schools, founded in 2003, is dedicated to providing high-quality education to underprivileged students in East Boston and Chelsea. With a network of four schools serving over 1,400 students from grades 5 to 12, the academy aims to close the opportunity gap by offering a holistic educational experience that includes social-emotional support, equity for diverse learners, and identity development. The school's mission is to empower students to pursue productive post-secondary pathways aligned with their personal values, fostering a supportive environment where growth and self-discovery thrive.
This year-long teaching fellowship offers an intensive teacher development program, the Excel Academy Teaching Fellowship. Fellows focus on developing Classroom Culture Management and Instructional Practice, alongside mentorship and professional development. The fellowship offers both mentorship, opportunity for leadership, and potentially a lead teaching position at the end of the year. It's a chance for growth, high-performance students to participate in enrichment activities, and support of fellow teachers.
