Behavioral Health Tech. - IBHS

The Behavioral Health Technician provides direct support to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges, working under the supervision of a Behavior Specialist Consultant or Mobile Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans in home, school, and community settings.

Requirements

• Provide assistant to child/adolescent in real-time to reinforce positive behaviors, teach coping skills, and provide emotional and behavioral support.
• Assists the child/adolescent manage emotional outbursts, anxiety, or other behavioral challenges by using de-escalation techniques.
• Collect data and monitor progress tracking the child’s/adolescent’s progress, documenting behavioral patterns, and reporting findings to the treatment team and adjust interventions as needed.
• Provide structured, hands-on support to help children and adolescents develop positive behaviors and succeed in their daily environments
• Complete all IBHS required training in their entirety.
• Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
• Work cooperatively with families, caregivers, and team members to provide children with the best possible care and treatment.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the behavior specialist consultant or mobile therapist.
• Support the behavior specialist consultant or mobile therapist with training families on implementing the individualized treatment plans.
• Collect data about individual’s behaviors through direct observation and monitor progress and effectiveness of the individualized treatment plan.
• Provide regular written and verbal progress updates on treatment plans.
• Assist the behavior specialist consultant or mobile therapist as directed with behavior reduction interventions and skill acquisition plans.
• Teach children/adolescents the specific behavior skills in a treatment plan.
• Communicate behavioral intervention results to individual’s parents and caregivers.
• Attend team meetings as needed and training workshops.
• Ensure the individual is in a safe and positive environment at all times.
• Understands and adheres to established policies and procedures
• Maintains ongoing confidential records of client files.
• Maintains acceptable attendance status, per agency policy
• Maintains professional documentation within established timeline and demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Follow policies and procedures of Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) and Excentia Human Services.
• Attend supervision as required by IBHS regulations.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
• Submit billing accurately and timely.
• Attend team meetings, as needed
• Provide ongoing intervention for each child/family.
• Consult with the client’s team as needed.
• Meet with the Clinical Director for IBHS Individual Services.
• Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
• Maintain confidentiality as per HIPAA and procedural safeguards.
• Other duties as assigned
