Senior Database Administrator

Exiger is seeking a motivated, self-driven Senior Database Administrator who designs, builds and optimizes database, works within a continuous integration and delivery pipeline, and embraces test automation as a discipline.

Requirements

• Own the day-to-day administration of relational and (where applicable) NoSQL databases
• Configure, monitor, and tune databases to optimise performance, reliability, and cost
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
• Manage database patching, upgrades, and schema changes in line with change-management processes
• Support and optimize data warehousing and cloud data platforms
• Monitor and optimize cloud database spend and resource utilization
• Collaborate with software and data engineering teams to design robust data models, database schemas, and indexing strategies
• Support ETL/ELT pipelines and integration jobs, ensuring reliability and data quality across environments
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine DBA tasks and health checks
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for database provisioning and configuration
• Partner with product, engineering, and data teams to support project delivery and troubleshoot complex data issues
• Share knowledge and coach engineers on best practice for database usage and query optimization
