Registered Practical Nurse

The Registered Practical Nurse will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily in keeping with governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care. The nurse will assist in assessing residents, develop and implement care plans, and monitor health changes.

Requirements

• Certificate of competence from the Approved Institutions for the province
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Previous experience in long-term care
• Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices
• Knowledge in Infection Control Practices
• Ability to present information clearly and effectively
• Ability to collect and use information to thoroughly think through problems and situations
• Organizational, planning, time management and multi-tasking skills
