EyeCare Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant - Ophthalmology to provide excellent patient care to patients during their visit. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of related experience, and a strong ability to interact with all levels of employees. Training will be provided.
Requirements
- Assists in monitoring vital signs and transporting patients
- Maintains aseptic technique at all times
- Assists in pre-op assessment
- Discontinues Hep-Locks
- Assists in post-op instruction review with patient
- Acts under the direct supervision of the nurse
- Performs fingerstick blood sugar
- Documentation in medical record of results
- Assists physician during laser procedures
- Reports pertinent observation and reactions regarding patients to the nurses and/or physician
- Identifies patient and family teaching needs and initiates intervention to meet needs
- Maintains and promotes a positive, safe environment for patients and co-workers
- Assists with or initiates emergency measures for sudden adverse development in patient’s condition
- Monitors levels of inventory in accordance with desired quantities
- Attends departmental meetings and in-service education
- Participates in economical utilization of supplies and medication
