Job Description
Faculty is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Defence business unit. The role involves developing bespoke algorithms for clients, building software architecture, and guiding projects from initial concepts to implementation. The position offers exposure to high-value clients, attending conferences, and mentoring fellows. The work forms fundamental part of delivering high-quality software within the allocated timeframe.
Requirements
- Proven experience in either a professional data science position or a quantitative academic field
- Strong programming skills (Python is preferred)
- Excellent understanding of data science libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn)
- Familiarity with a deep-learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe)
- A high level of mathematical competence and proficiency in statistics
- A solid grasp of data science techniques (supervised/unsupervised ML, model validation)
- Commercial experience, client-facing work, or project management
- Experience leading a team of data scientists
