Senior Data Scientist

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead project teams and deliver bespoke algorithms to clients in the defence and national security sector. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for conceiving the data science approach, designing the associated software architecture, and ensuring best practices are followed. You will also play an important role in the development of others at Faculty by acting as a mentor and supporting the professional growth of data scientists on the project team.

Requirements

• Senior experience in either a professional data science position or a quantitative academic field
• Strong programming skills as evidenced by earlier work in data science or software engineering
• Excellent command of basic libraries for data science and familiarity with a deep-learning framework
• High level of mathematical competence and proficiency in statistics
• Solid grasp of standard data science techniques, such as supervised/unsupervised machine learning, model cross validation, Bayesian inference, time-series analysis, simple NLP, effective SQL database querying, or using/writing simple APIs for models
• Leadership mindset focused on growing the technical capabilities of the team
• Commercial experience, particularly client-facing work or project management
