Job Description
FirstEnergy is seeking a Tax Analyst to contribute to the Tax Department, supporting tax accounting, regulatory proceedings, and financial reporting. The role involves preparing journal entries, analyzing data, and performing research to support tax returns and projections. This is an onsite position at the FirstEnergy Headquarters in Akron, OH.
Requirements
- Performing various accounting and analytical tasks to support the calculation of the income tax provision
- Interacting with the company's independent auditor during quarterly or annual closing and financial reporting
- Reconciling various tax accounts
- Compiling and analyzing data necessary to support the preparation and filing of federal and state income tax returns
- Performing research and analysis concerning the technical tax and accounting implications of various transactions
- Drafting memoranda to support tax positions
- Participating in special projects in the Tax or Controller’s departments
- Taking the initiative to solve problems and bring issues to closure
