Assistant Professor, Civil Infrastructure & Materials Engineering

The Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatics Engineering at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for a tenure-earning Assistant Professor position in the general area of Civil Infrastructure and Materials Engineering. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose research strengthens one or more of the following areas: sustainable and resilient civil infrastructure systems, advanced and innovative construction materials, geotechnical and pavement engineering, structural materials behavior, durability and life-cycle performance of infrastructure, and smart sensing or data-driven methods for infrastructure monitoring and management.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Infrastructure, Materials, Geotechnical, Structural, Pavement, or a closely related area
• Professional licensure, or the ability to become licensed during the first three years of employment
• Experience in building and publishing results from independent and/or collaborative research programs
• Ability to teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students
• Participation in professional and departmental service activities
