Law Enforcement Officer

Florida Atlantic University is seeking eight (8) Law Enforcement Officers to ensure the safety and security of its campus community. The role is essential in maintaining a welcoming and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of law enforcement experience
• Florida Department of Law Enforcement Basic Recruit Certificate
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter 943 of the Florida Statutes
• Must be at least 19 years of age and a U.S. citizen
• Ability to work in stressful and sometimes hazardous conditions
• Ability to safely operate a patrol vehicle and emergency equipment
• Ability to grasp criminal and traffic laws and to make sound decisions
• Ability to exercise restraint and tact with all members of the University community and the general public
• Ability to physically and mentally satisfy state and departmental training requirements
• Ability to effectively work without direct supervision
