Job Description
The Department of Computing and Software Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor appointment starting August 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in computer science and software engineering, demonstrate successful productivity in scientific, engineering and/or educational scholarship, and perform service within the university and their professional community.
Requirements
- Earned Doctorate in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a closely related field
- 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution
- Teaching and research interests in AI and cybersecurity
- Prior experience in teaching, research, industry, and/or extramural funding
- Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate software engineering and computer science courses, and mentor students
- Ability to publish in regional, national, and international venues appropriate to the discipline
- Ability to deal effectively with a various range of learners and to use information technology as a pedagogical and professional tool
