The Groundskeeping Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the work activities of assigned grounds employees and contracted vendors. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work performed.
Requirements
- Supervises a team of groundskeepers and contracted vendors performing fertilization, pesticide, herbicide, irrigation maintenance and repairs, mowing, edging, tree and bush pruning, installation of new plant materials, and trash pick-up.
- Establishes work schedules and assigns work activities based on priority and skill level of employees.
- Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to standards.
- Provides training in safety, techniques, operational procedures, and equipment use.
- Requisitions materials and supplies, such as tools, and equipment.
- Assists in the development and implementation of processes, guidelines, and standards.
- Assists with the completion of performance evaluations of assigned staff.
- Investigates accidents or injuries and completes applicable reporting requirements.
- Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
