State & Local Tax Manager oversees multi-state sales & use tax compliance, state income & franchise taxes, systems monitoring & data integrity, nexus, voluntary disclosures & risk management, and audit & research leadership.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred but not required—equivalent experience is highly valued
- 5+ years of state and local tax experience, including multi-state compliance (both sales/use and income/franchise)
- Strong working knowledge of nexus rules, apportionment methodologies, and state filing requirements
- Significant hands on experience with Avalara (configuration, workflow review, data troubleshooting)
- Experience with P21 or similar ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Ability to manage deadlines across multiple jurisdictions and projects
