Radiology Technologist 2 arranges patients for radiological examinations and performs advanced radiological procedures, including producing radiographs (x-rays) and using imaging protocols and equipment safely.
Requirements
- Exhibits working knowledge of all Diagnostic Radiology equipment and procedures
- Performs all procedures in an efficient and timely manner without compromising quality or the mission statement
- Coordinates Radiology schedule with other areas to prevent patient waiting
- Corrects and reports accidents, incidents and safety hazards
- Uses good body mechanics when moving patients
- Adheres to infection control practices
- Routinely wears film badge to monitor Radiation exposure
- Wears proper Radiation protection equipment while doing procedures
- Reports all equipment problems to chief technologist and places service call through call center
- Complete Exam Data Entry fields on all exams
- Documents all pertinent information, i.e., patient history, tech initials
- Is available to work a rotating on-call schedule to ensure 24-hour coverage of the Radiology Department
- Assist in other areas of the department as workload permits
- Keeps areas well stocked at all times
- Provides imaging support for surgical procedures
- Assist Radiologist with interventional procedures
- Assist with clinical rotation of radiology program students
